Aves Early Education provides full-day childcare for children 12 months to 5 years. With our two facilities, our passion is to provide the best education for your child. We have a remarkable program that aims to develop the whole child with a focus on fostering a love of learning in early learners. Philosophical Approaches
1

MONTESSORI

Aves draws on Montessori's world-renowned educational approach to learning, particularly for our infants and toddlers. Through the use of Montessori materials and Montessori-based activities, early learners develop a strong foundation in all areas of development.

2

REGGIO EMILIA

The Reggio Emilia approach to guiding children’s development is becoming a worldwide phenomenon. With its innovative and inspiring principles, this approach has been found to advance the quality of education for early learners. At Aves, the staff are trained to value children as researchers so they can self-discover the world around them. We follow children’s interests and theories as they are the ones who dictate the school curriculum.

3

TOOLS OF THE MIND

A research-based program derived from the works of Russian Psychologist, Lev Vygotsky, Tools of the Mind has been found to promote self-regulation in early learners. The staff at Aves implement various strategies used in this program to help children self-regulate.

4

Aves Approach

At Aves, the foremost principle guiding teachers in their planning and activities is: Make learning meaningful to children. The way in which this principle is executed has been influenced by the following approaches: Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Tools of the Mind.

Both my wife and I being educators ourselves in secondary school, we are aware of the broad range of level of care given by many early education institutions and we can say, without a doubt, that this is one of the best we have ever seen or have heard of, and our son loves it, which is the most important thing.

The Origin of the name Aves...

What does Aves mean?

Aves [ey-veez] noun
a class of vertebrates comprising the remarkable species, birds

Why Aves was chosen...

I remember having this feeling of awe and admiration while listening to my professor speak about an amazing project inspired by children's imaginations. Children at La Villetta Preschool in Reggio Emilia wanted to create a playground for birds. The teachers guided them, supported their creations, and encouraged them to think outside of the box. Indeed, the entire community supported the children's work and the children's ideas were brought to life. This project became famously known as,

"An Amusement Park for Birds".

It was through this project that my image of the child was affirmed: Children, even very young ones, have the curiosity, passion, intelligence, discipline, and dedication to create something absolutely extraordinary if given the chance. I want to give children this chance. To think big, be bold, and learn how to make a difference. The Amusement Park for Birds is a constant reminder of this aim of mine, and hence the name...Aves.
